                smooth boundary.

               18-51 cm (E1) Gray to light gray (10YR 6-7/1)

                sand; single grain; loose; nonsticky,
                nonplastic; many fine interstitial pores;

                common fine roots; strongly acid (field pH
                5.5); diffuse, smooth boundary.

               51-76/80 cm (E2) White (10YR 8/1) sand; single

                grain; loose; nonsticky, nonplastic; many fine
                interstitial pores; few fine roots; slightly acid

                (field pH 6.5); clear, smooth boundary.

               76/80-106  cm (Bh1) Black (10YR 2/1) and dark brown (7.5YR 3/4) loamy sand; massive;
                firm, nonsticky, nonplastic; common fine interstitial pores; very few fine roots; very
                strongly acid (field pH 4.5); diffuse, smooth boundary.


               106-136 cm (Bh2) Very dark gray (10YR 3/1) and dark brown (7.5YR 3-4/4) loamy sand; massive;
                friable, nonsticky, nonplastic; common fine interstitial pores; no roots; very strongly acid (field
                pH 4.5).
