Haplic Ferralsols

Haplic Ferralsols have a typical expression

              of certain.

Tha Mai series (Ti) is a representative of
Haplic Ferralsols. Tha Mai soils are formed from basalt

and occurred on basalt terrain dominated in the east.
Relief is gently undulating to undulating. Slope ranges

from 2-12 percent. Drainage is well drained,
permeability is moderate to slow and surface runoff

is rapid. They are very deep soils and characterized
by a dark reddish brown clay surface or A horizon

overlying a dark reddish brown or reddish brown silty
clay or clay oxic B horizon. Soil pH is a moderately

acid to neutral (pH 6.0-7.0) at the surface layer and a
very strongly acid to strongly acid (pH 4.5-5.5) in the

subsoil. Land use limitation are low fertility and lack
of water supply for crop production.
