In the humid tropics, the environments for the primary occurrence of
Arenosols are various, including alluvial sands and beach ridges.
Use and management
Arenosols are widely used as extensive grazing for sheep, goats, or

camels, but where rainfall exceeds 400 mm yr , rainfed crops can be
cultivated. Wind erosion is a significant problem, but with irrigation and
fertilizers, these soils can be productive.
